Looking to Renovation or Extend Your Epsom Home
The first thing you think of when you think of Epsom is probably either its racecourse or salts – but it’s also often ranked as one of the UK's best places to live. Surrounded by green belt countryside – the Surrey Hills area of outstanding natural beauty is just six miles away – and close to the M25, it offers a theatre, shopping mall, cinema and golf club, as well as good schools and a wide choice of property.
The healing properties attributed to Epsom’s water led to it becoming the most popular spa town in England in Georgian times – and it still has its water pump today.
Houses here are much better value than in south west London, and lots of them are lovely: large Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian homes, 1920s semis, detached Arts and Crafts houses, pretty Victorian cottages and modern flats. There are a number of conservation areas to protect the town’s architecture too.
Junction 9 of the M25 is less than four miles away, and there are eight peak-time trains an hour into London Bridge, Waterloo and Victoria, taking between 35 and 45 minutes.
