Double Storey Extension and Garage Conversion

PLANNING AUTHORITY: BEXLEY COUNCILAga completed a modern design for a double storey extension with architectural feature and balcony to the front elevation for this detached dwelling in Bexley. The old yellow brick was replaced entirely with white render and contrasting brown weather boarding to give a modern and crisp look to the dwelling. The lack of soffits (a horrible feature often found on 1960 properties) was cleverly disguised using a pergola. This also doubles up as a sun shade when using the balcony. The front feature also had the effect of splitting the existing balcony in two so that the Master Bedroom now has its own secluded private area overlooking the front driveway and garden. Inside, a private dining room opens up into a larger open plan Kitchen/Diner with bi-folding doors to rear garden. The existing large double garage was converted into a guest room and office.
